Marble film: who buys it and what for
Marble film from this series goes to furniture and front makers, board-laminating plants, joinery workshops, fit-out firms and distributors of decorative materials. For them it is a furniture foil putting a stone pattern on fronts, panels or wall linings. Our team in China negotiates the price and checks production quality.
The series runs from Carrara, Calacatta and Statuario to onyx, granite and terrazzo, plus over a dozen plain colours. See also gold film, with gold veining.
What to put in an enquiry for decorative film
Give the pattern code, quantity, substrate and application method. Roll width, thickness and backing are confirmed per pattern against the manufacturer's specification, so tell us what your line or press requires. Price and date come back within one working day.
- Pattern and quantity — e.g. ML1002, in linear metres or rolls; a quantity for each code.
- Substrate — MDF, particleboard or metal.
- Technical requirements — width, thickness, backing or adhesive layer, if your process needs them.
- Branding — rolls and packaging under your logo, as private label.
Sample, batch and container delivery
Approve the pattern on a sample before ordering a batch, because colour on screen differs from film in the hand. Order large quantities of one pattern in a single production batch, as the shade can vary slightly between batches. Film travels by container from Yantian to Gdańsk; the typical sailing takes 30–38 days.
We quote any quantity, from a sample to a full 40HQ container. Under Incoterms® 2020, FOB Yantian means we load on board and later costs are yours. CIF Gdańsk adds freight and insurance to Gdańsk; DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) means delivery with duty paid.
Import duty and VAT on marble film from China
Duty on marble film from China is 6.5% where the film is plastic. The CN code, the eight-digit number for goods in the EU customs tariff, depends on how the film is built: thickness, adhesive layer and backing. Polish import VAT is 23%. The EU tariff database TARIC lists no anti-dumping duty on these codes for China.
| Film construction | CN code | Duty (China) |
|---|---|---|
| PVC up to 1 mm, at least 6% plasticiser, no adhesive or backing | 3920 43 10 | 6.5% |
| Other PVC film up to 1 mm, no adhesive or backing | 3920 49 10 | 6.5% |
| Self-adhesive film in rolls wider than 20 cm | 3919 90 80 | 6.5% |
Film backed with another material falls outside heading 3920; we set its code from the manufacturer's specification. The VAT base is the customs value plus duty (Polish VAT Act, art. 30b(1) and art. 146ef). Our customs team can take on clearance; estimate the cost in the import duty calculator.
