Kai matcha set with a spouted bowl

Kai means sea in Japanese, and the glaze shows it: blue washed over white, deep in one place and almost gone in another. The set pairs a hand-glazed bowl with a pouring spout with a bamboo whisk (chasen), a bamboo scoop (chashaku) and a whisk holder.

With the spout, matcha whisked in the bowl pours into a glass in one movement — which is what a latte drinker does every day.

Every bowl is glazed by hand and comes out different. Tea is sold separately; the set is also available bundled with ceremonial or culinary matcha.
