Matcha tea

Ceremonial and culinary matcha in retail tins and pouches with EAN codes, and in 1 kg bags for cafés.

2 products

This is the matcha our own brand ZOI sells in Poland, offered here to shops, cafés and distributors. Two grades: ceremonial, whisked with water and drunk as it is, and culinary, which holds its flavour in milk, dough and ice cream. Both come in retail packs with an EAN code and a Polish label, and in bulk bags for cafés and kitchens. The origin is China, as the label states, and Global Trade Group is the importer named on it — so a question about the tea is answered by the company that brought it in.

Matcha wholesale: what we stock and who buys it

Matcha wholesale here means two grades from our own brand ZOI: ceremonial matcha (GTG202001) and culinary matcha (GTG202002). Tea shops, cafés, concept stores, online shops, bakeries, gift-box makers and distributors buy them. Both are in stock in our warehouse in Poland, so an order goes out by courier instead of waiting for a container.

Matcha is green tea from shaded leaves, steamed, dried and ground into a fine powder. Leaf tea is steeped and thrown away; matcha powder is whisked into water and drunk whole. That is why colour, fineness and taste decide a matcha more than they decide any other tea.

Ceremonial or culinary matcha: which grade for which use

Ceremonial matcha is the grade for drinking with water alone, and culinary matcha is the grade for mixing with milk, sugar and flour. The difference is the harvest. Ceremonial matcha comes from young leaves and tastes mild and sweet. Culinary matcha comes from later harvests and tastes stronger and more bitter, which is what lets it survive in a latte.

If you serve both a traditional matcha and a latte, stock both grades. If you sell to home drinkers, the ceremonial tin is the entry product and the culinary pouch is the one for customers who make lattes.

Pack sizes, EAN codes and cups per pack

Every retail pack carries its own EAN code, so a shop can scan it at the till and list it on a marketplace without relabelling. At 2 g a cup, a 50 g tin makes about 25 cups, a 100 g pouch about 50, a 200 g pouch about 100 and a 1 kg bag about 500.

Matcha for cafés: what 1 kg makes

One kilogram of matcha makes about 500 servings at 2 g each, or between 330 and 500 lattes at 2–3 g each. That arithmetic is the case for the 1 kg bag: the cost of matcha per drink is the bag price divided by the number of portions, so a café that fixes its dose per drink also fixes that cost.

Two habits keep the flavour the same from the first cup to the last. Keep the open bag sealed, cool and dry, away from light, and decant a day's supply into a smaller container. Whisk the powder into a little water before the milk goes in, because matcha poured straight into milk always leaves lumps.

Origin, the label and the importer

The origin of both grades is China, and the label says so. The label names Global Trade Group as the importer, together with the product name, the ingredient, the net weight, the best-before date and the storage conditions. For a reseller that means one company inside the EU that answers for the product.

The country of origin is not a detail to leave off a matcha label. EU food information rules make the indication of origin mandatory wherever leaving it off could mislead the consumer about where the food comes from, and with matcha, buyers ask.

Delivery from Poland, duty and VAT

We ship from our warehouse in Poland: InPost and DPD within Poland, DHL across the EU, and pallets for larger orders. The tea is already inside the EU, so buying from us means no customs duty and no clearance on your side. VAT is settled on our sales invoice, and freight is quoted separately by country, quantity and weight.

For comparison, importing matcha yourself from outside the EU means customs duty under CN code 0902 10 00 (green tea in immediate packings of up to 3 kg) at a conventional rate of 3.2%, set in the Combined Nomenclature for 2026, plus import VAT and the clearance itself. Green tea in packings over 3 kg (0902 20 00) is duty-free. We run that route too, for buyers who want matcha under their own brand: see import from China.

Legal status checked: September 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between ceremonial and culinary matcha?

Ceremonial matcha comes from young leaves and is mild and sweet, made to be whisked with water and drunk as it is. Culinary matcha comes from later harvests and is stronger and more bitter, which lets it keep its flavour in lattes, baking and ice cream. We supply both grades, in retail packs and in 1 kg bags.

Where does your matcha come from?

Both grades are of Chinese origin, and the label states it. The label names Global Trade Group as the importer, together with the ingredient, the net weight, the best-before date and the storage conditions. The tea is held in our warehouse in Poland and shipped from there.

Which matcha pack sizes can I order wholesale?

Ceremonial matcha comes in a 50 g tin and in 100 g and 200 g pouches, and culinary matcha in 100 g and 200 g pouches. Both grades also come in 1 kg bags for cafés and kitchens. Every retail pack has its own EAN code, and prices are quoted by pack size and quantity.

How many cups does 1 kg of matcha make?

About 500 servings at 2 g of matcha each, or between 330 and 500 lattes at 2 to 3 g each. Dividing the price of the bag by the number of portions gives the cost of matcha per drink, which is why cafés fix a dose for every drink on the menu.

Do I pay customs duty on matcha bought from you?

No. The matcha is held in our warehouse in Poland, so it is already inside the European Union and there is no customs duty or clearance on your side. VAT is settled on our sales invoice. Importing green tea in packs of up to 3 kg from outside the EU carries 3.2% duty under CN 0902 10 00.
