Matcha tools

Bamboo chasen from 80 to 120 prongs in white and purple bamboo, travel and long-handled whisks, chashaku, a matcha sifter and a boxed tool kit.

20 products

Everything needed to make matcha except the bowl and the tea, for tea shops, cafés, gift-set makers and distributors. The chasen comes in the traditional cuts — 80, 100 and 120 prongs, kazuho, tsuneho and shin — in white or purple bamboo, with a compact nodate whisk for travel sets and a long-handled whisk for tall glasses. Beside them: chashaku scoops in two lengths, a stainless-steel matcha sifter and a tool kit in a gift box. The 100-prong white chasen is the line our own brand ZOI sells in Poland, with published wholesale prices; every other model is quoted on request. Private label is the obvious route here — it is a line we already run under our own mark.

Matcha whisk wholesale: every common chasen cut

Matcha whisk wholesale here covers the chasen in every common cut, with the scoop, the sifter and a boxed tool kit beside it. A chasen is the bamboo whisk that disperses matcha powder through water and lifts a smooth drink with a fine foam. It is cut from a single piece of bamboo, and the cut decides how fine the foam is and how long the whisk lasts. Matcha brands, tea shops, cafés, online stores, wholesalers, distributors and gift-set makers buy them.

The table counts prongs in two ways. The 80-, 100- and 120-prong whisks carry the nominal count their name states. Kazuho, tsuneho, shin, nodate and the long-handled whisks carry the number of outer prongs, the ring visible from the side, so the two figures are not like for like.

80, 100 or 120 prongs: how to choose

The prong count is the main choice when stocking a chasen. More prongs means thinner prongs and a finer, denser foam; fewer prongs means thicker, sturdier prongs that keep their shape longer. The 100-prong whisk is the everyday standard. The 120-prong whisk suits specialist tea shops and customers who care most about the foam, and the 80-prong whisk suits cafés and first-time buyers who want a whisk that lasts.

Two whisks are built for a particular job. The nodate whisk is compact, made for travel tea sets and small gift boxes. The long-handled whisk has a small head on a long handle, for whisking in a tall cup or a latte glass.

White or purple bamboo

White bamboo is the natural pale bamboo most chasen are cut from. Purple bamboo, also called shichiku, is a dark bamboo whose colour runs from deep brown to almost black. The two whisk the same way; purple bamboo gives a darker, more distinctive look on a shelf or in a premium gift set. The 80-, 100- and 120-prong cuts, the shin whisk, the long-handled whisk and the short chashaku come in both.

Bamboo matcha whisk in bulk: prices and minimum order

The unit price falls from €3.50 at 25 pieces to €2.40 from 1,000 pieces, and 5,000 pieces or more are quoted individually. Private label, meaning your name, logo, label and packaging design, starts at 1,000 pieces.

Every other model, the chashaku, the sifter and the tool kit are quoted on request, with the minimum order in the quotation.

Chashaku, sifter and tool kit

A chashaku is the bamboo scoop that measures matcha from the tin into the bowl. We carry the classic chashaku (GTG201002) and a shorter, lighter one in white or purple bamboo (GTG201017, GTG201018).

A matcha sifter is a fine mesh that breaks up the clumps matcha powder forms in the tin, so the drink has no lumps. Ours is stainless steel on a long handle (GTG201019). The tool kit (GTG201020) boxes a 100-prong whisk, a chashaku, a bamboo spoon and a sifter together, for customers who already own a bowl.

Shipped from Poland: no customs on your side

We ship from our warehouse in Poland: InPost and DPD within Poland, DHL across the EU, and pallets for larger orders. The goods are already inside the EU, so you pay no customs duty and go through no customs clearance. VAT is settled on our sales invoice, and freight is quoted separately by country, quantity and weight. Stock varies by model; a model not in stock is made to order, and the quotation states the date.

For comparison, bamboo tableware and kitchenware falls under CN code 4419 19 00, with 0% duty when imported from outside the EU. Importing yourself would still mean clearance, import VAT and transit time. Need a matcha accessory that is not listed here? We source it through our import from China service.

For the 100-prong white chasen, private label is available from 1,000 pieces. It covers your name, logo, label and packaging design, quoted against the specification you need, and the standard plastic tube can be replaced with a paper tube for €0.50 more per piece. Other models are quoted on request.

What is the difference between a chasen and a chashaku?
