A shin chasen cut from a single piece of white bamboo, with shin (真) printed on its tube. Its prongs are fewer and broader than on our fine-cut whisks and open into a wide, rounded head.
Broader prongs are sturdier, so the whisk keeps its shape well and suits customers who want a robust whisk. Its prong count is the number of outer prongs, the ring visible from the side. It comes in a clear plastic tube.
