120-prong chasen — white bamboo matcha whisk

A 120-prong matcha whisk (chasen) cut from a single piece of white bamboo, with hyakunijuppondate (百二十本立) printed on its tube. It is the finest cut in our range: the bamboo is split into many thin prongs that whip matcha into a dense foam with fine bubbles, with little effort.

Fine prongs are more delicate than coarse ones, so the whisk lasts longest when it is soaked briefly before use and dried on a whisk holder afterwards. It comes in a clear plastic tube; a kraft paper tube is available on request.
